Deepak Chopra, purveryor of “quantum healing”
It’s time to add another quack to the directory; this time, it’s Deepak Chopra, purveryor of “quantum healing” and other nonsensical garbage. Chopra’s general strategy is the same as that of the Church
of Scientology: that is, he masks a dearth of cogent ideas behind a screen of empty pseudoscientific jargon. The intended effect is for the reader to think, “I don’t understand this; it must be really
smart!” The correct reaction is, “I don’t understand this, because it is fundamentally incoherent.”
A side-effect of this is a dilution of real scientific terminology, further contributing to the general confusion of us all. Chopra reaps
fortunes selling a gussied up version of positive thinking; he is a
scuzzball who contributes nothing of value to society.
